Statement
I was born and raised in the busy commercial center
of Shanghai, China - a way art of life which I
found uninspiring to the style of art which I longed to
produce.
Then, as an immigrant, I came to Canada where freedom
of thought and expression, combined with the
natural beauty of this land, offer an artistic paradise.
Here - man’s creations sit in the lap of nature’s
wonders.
Here - high-rises sit obediently at the foot of high
peaks
Here - mature serenity holds us all in awe.
Now the rest is up to me - to put this beauty onto
canvas with truth and with respect - in a style that I
hope pleases you, the viewer. I sincerely hope
that this exhibition reflects how I feel about my new
country and that my style mirrors the harmony I feel
with this beautiful land.
