Lord Tadanori (Kiyomori’s Youngest Brother) 1144-1184 AD
He was called “The Commander in Black” and was well known for his noble good looks and his excellent poems. He was ambushed and killed by the Genji army at the age of 41 during a false cease-fire ordered by Goshirakawa-in. When his body was identified by a poem that was tied to one of his arrows, it was said that all warriors, ally and foe alike, shed tears.
