Yamabuki (A Woman Warrior / Mistress of Yoshinaka)

Yamabuki was in the Kiso-Genji Women’s Force and was one of Yoshinaka’s mistresses.  She had a terrible temper.  Another female warrior who was also a mistress of Yoshinaka, was said to have been killed with a poison arrow by Yamabuki.  ‘The Tale’ tells of Yamabuki falling ill and being unable to join Tomo-e in Yoshinaka’s last battle.
