The Art Beatus Gallery is very pleased to announce a solo exhibition of award winning Tokyo based photographer Xuemin Feng.  The show, entitled “Yunnan-Homeland of Puer Tea”, reflects Feng’s feelings towards his motherland - Yunnan.

Xuemin Feng, who is now living in Japan, had spent ten years in the state farm in Yunnan as an intellectual. Now, the artist uses almost all his spare time in traveling in China to take photos for his motherland, taste her culture and also display her spirit.  The work is not only a successful art creation, but also a project which is completed by the artist himself to sing for his motherland.

The works of “Yunnan” series granted the 36th “The Sun Prize” in the Sun monthly magazine in Tokyo, Japan in 1999.  Feng is the first foreigner in Japan to get this prize.  The artist states: This honor belongs to me, belongs to the friends from Japan and China who care about me and support me and belongs to the motherland whom I love forever”.
