Ren, who is being regarding as a leading German artist of Chinese origin, now bases in Bonn, Germany and works between that German city and Beijing, China. 

His Canadian exhibition will run from December 8, 2000 to February 28, 2001.  On show are Ren’s full range of artistic creations including steel sculptures, wood carvings, paper cuttings and photo collages. 

The artist was born in Nanjing, China and finished his tertiary art education in the Nanjing Art Academy.  Then he received further studies in the art academies of Munster and Düsseldorf, Germany. 

Ren became a professional artist in 1992.  Throughout his years of professional work, Ren has come up with an icon of his own, which, in turn, is a hybrid creature of the eastern and western civilizations.
