Works of Gao Zengli

April 28, 2006 - May 19, 2006

Opening Ceremony - April 28, 2006 , 6pm - 8pm:
Artist will attend the opening ceremony

Gao Zengli paints mainly objects that trigger feelings and emotions set deep in his heart. His four most commonly used objects are: the religious pagoda from way back when, the dragon robe of kings and emperors, the tunics which are better known to the world as the Mao's jackets and the portrait of Mao himself.

Each of these objects brings to its viewers images or memories that are universal yet individual. With added elements as well as highly texturized surfaces, Gao further enriches his icons to deepen and achieve special visual effects.

Born in 1964, Gao graduated from the Shandong Academy of Fine Arts in 1985. He continued his studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris after he moved to live in France in 1998. He had numerous exhibitions in France and other parts of Europe since 2000 and started showing his works back in China again from last year.

In "Icons" exhibition at Art Beatus Gallery Exchange Square, Gao will show 16 pieces of his latest works. The exhibition opens on April 28, 2006 and runs until May 19, 2006.

Art Beatus Gallery is located at Shop 301-302, Exchange Square One podium level. For further information about this exhibition or to arrange an in-depth interview with the artist, you can either e-mail us at dyiu@artbeatus.com.hk or call Dominic Chan at 2522-1138 or Josephine Hau at 2526-0818.
