Discerning Eyes

Photographic Works by Feng Xuemin, Xu Yong, Jolans Fung, Yan Wong & Pazu Chan

Discerning Eyes is a group exhibition of photographic works by five of our gallery artists, Feng Xumin, Xu Yong, Jolans Fung, Yan Wong and Pazu Chan.

Feng Xuemin is a renowned photo artist lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. He was the winner of the Sun Award, the highest photography honor in Japan, in 1999. His exhibits represent part of his best works over the decades.

Xu Yong from Beijing is known for his series of photographs on alleys of old Beijing, the hutong. On show are his challenges to confront the traditional concept of photography on "what to see" with "how to see".

Jolans Fung, Yan Wong and Pazu Chan are Hong Kong photo artists. French-trained Jolans Fung uses his works to convey his views on the luxuriant materialism of Hong Kong. Yan Wong is a writer/photographer who has published several travel books on his explorations and his exhibits are on the colours of China. Pazu Chan, a successful commercial photographer, attempts to explore the human factors and sentiments behind symbolism by recording some top chefs at ease.

Discerning Eyes exhibition will open at Art Beatus Gallery on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and will continue until April 13, 2017.
