Retrospective Works of Gao Zengli

November 14 - December 20, 2017

Gao Zengli returned to China to rejuvenate his creative endeavors in 2005. He set up his studio in Guangzhou and Beijing consecutively and subsequently in Hong Kong, after spending the previous seven years studying and painting in Paris, France.

In the twelve years since then, he chronicled his journeys down the memory lane with icons and imageries that he had on his motherland.

He ended this part of his creative journey earlier this year and bid farewell to his China studio. For the next while, Gao chooses to concentrate his efforts in France and Switzerland.

The paintings in this quasi-retrospective exhibition contain stories that he has told about his journeys and memories of China.

Born in Lanzhou, Gansu Province in 1964, Gao finished his Chinese portion of training in Shandong Academy of Fine Art. He completed his studies in the National Academy of Fine Art in Paris, where he also resides and works since 1998.

Journeys exhibition will open at Art Beatus Gallery on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 and will continue until December 20, 2017.
