Art Beatus Gallery is pleased to present, Harmony vs. Confrontation, beginning Thursday, August 28 to October 16, 2003.  New works by well-known international artists Cha Guojun and Xu Bing will be featured.  The pairing of the artists' works is both engaging and thought-provoking, exploring intriguing contrasts and similarities.  Mixed media paintings by Cha Guojun introduce ancient Chinese oracle bone characters into vibrant, modernized abstraction, while Xu Bing's New English Calligraphy presents an amalgamation of East-meets-Western fonts in the guise of nursery rhymes, quotations from Mao Zedong, and adored poetry from Western and Chinese culture.  The public is invited to attend the exhibition which will open with an evening reception hosted by Art Beatus Gallery on Thursday, August 28 from 6pm to 8pm.
